President Trump met with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan Tuesday at the White House amid tensions over the US decision to arm Kurdish fighters in Syria, which angered Ankara, a crucial partner in the US-led coalition against Islamic State forces.
«It is a great honor to have President Erdogan from Turkey here,» Trump said. «We’re going to have long and hard discussions; I know that they will be very successful. We’ve had a great relationship and we’ll make it even better.”
